Sleeping Beauty (Grades 2-5)

Princess Aurora’s joyful birth is shadowed by a Wicked Fairy’s spell. Raised by good fairies and forest friends, Aurora grows up surrounded by music, magic, and love—until the curse takes hold. This enchanting tale invites everyone to help awaken the sleeping beauty. No experience necessary, everyone gets a part!

When: Monday, June 22nd – Friday, June 27th 9:00am-4:00pm

Performances: Friday June 26th at 6:30pm and Saturday June 27th at 1:00pm (Tickets $5 at the door)

The Crucible (Ages 14-20)

In the rigid Puritan society of Salem, Massachusetts, a group of teenage girls is stricken by a mysterious illness. When no earthly cause can be found, the girls rock the village with accusations of witchcraft against their neighbors. Hysteria quickly consumes the town bringing more and more charges – even singling out the most pious members of the church. As a few residents try to stem the loss of reason, some exploit the fear for their own gain, while others get caught up in the politics of maintaining religious and societal control. In the midst of the madness, the accused struggle to maintain integrity of their souls while determining if they must conform in order to survive. Both Performers and Tech Students wanted.

When: July 13th-25th, Mon-Fri 9:00am-4:00pm

Performances: Friday July 24th at 7:00pm and Saturday July 25th at 2:00pm

The Many Disguises of Robin Hood (Grades 6-8)

This classic story gets a fun twist in merry ol’ England, where Robin Hood’s legendary adventures take an unexpected turn. With clever disguises, daring contests, and bold schemes, Robin outwits the Sheriff of Nottingham and Prince John—until her secret is revealed! Joined by her merry band and the brave Maid Marian, Robin must use courage and wit to escape the gallows and restore justice to the land. No experience necessary, everyone gets a part!

When: July 27th-31st 9:00am-12:30pm, & August 3rd-8th 9:00am-4:00pm

Performances: Friday August 7th at 7:00pm and August 8th at 2:00pm

The Reluctant Dragon with Locally Grown Theatre

When Widget and his friend Hairytoes discover a friendly dragon named Mortimer, panic sweeps the town and a call goes out to slay the beast. With bullies stirring trouble and Saint George on the way, the heroes must act fast to save their scaly friend. Guided by a wise mountain guru and the storytelling Old Folks of the Valley, Mortimer trains for a battle that’s more show than slaughter. Full of humor, heart, and audience participation, this lively tale will have everyone cheering for the dragon and his pals. No experience necessary, everyone gets a part!

When: August 10th-15th 9:00am-4:00pm (Tech: half days week 1, Full days week 2)

Performances: Friday August 14th 6:30pm and Saturday August 15th 1:00pm

Locally Grown Theatre Sprouts Camp: Dragons!

Become a Dragonologist and uncover the secret world of dragons! Journey through legendary dragons from around the globe, from beloved storybook dragons like Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon to the silly fire-breathing friends in Dragons Love Tacos. Campers will explore dragon lore and learn about different dragon habitats, behaviors, and attitudes and discover what it takes to protect these magnificent mythical creatures. Get ready for imagination, adventure and a whole lot of dragon fun! 

While there is no performance for this camp there will be a short show and tell for families at the end of this camp. 

When: August 17th-21st, 9:00am-3:00pm
